There are two types of IELTS.

General

IELTS General

It is suitable for those who plan to go abroad for work experience, training, or immigration. A general language proficiency test measures the candidate’s ability to communicate in English, the primary language of communication in a work environment. 

IELTS Academic

This exam measures a student’s proficiency in the English language. The IELTS Academic test determines admission to undergraduate and graduate programs.

Format

The IELTS exam’s listening and speaking examinations are identical in both instances, but the reading and writing sections are different. IELTS Academic contains three long comprehensions with 40 questions in the IELTS Reading test. Twelve to fourteen questions are being asked in each passage. Each section of IELTS GENERAL has three sections, and the student has only one hour to complete the reading portion of the module. Compared to the IELTS academic reading module, Sections 2 and 3 are smaller and easier to complete. In the IELTS academic module, section 3 is a longer one.

IELTS UKVI Test

IELTS approved by the UK Visas and Immigration department as Secure English Language Tests. Reading, writing, listening, and speaking portions of the tests administered provide evidence of English language proficiency by giving a score.
